Persona 3 YEAH!
Persona 3 is a J-RPG game created by the fabled Atlus. The game features a world that goes from bustling to post apocalyptic at the tick of midnight, due to a giant menacing tower pulled from Greek mythology. You are ambitiously subtle emo transfer [insert name here], who has been put in a co-ed “dorm” because you have the potential, something that gives you the ability to survive the horrendous midnight hour. Things go down and you’re whisked into S.E.E.S, a group of people who have “Personas”, your goal is of course to save the world. Emotional moments, breathtaking twists, and attachable characters really makes the story something of a beauty.
The gameplay plays out as most J-RPGS do, you attack, they attack, ect. But there is the inclusion of Personas (or in your teammates case, Persona) pokemon like demons, except instead of summoning them from balls, you shoot yourself. Each different character has a different type of attack weapon, from boxing gloves to short swords to axes. In the original version, you could not directly control your teammates, but instead give them orders like “Support: or “Focus Fire”. Personas are obtained through mini games
in which cards appear with the Personas, flip over and do a switcheroo. Pick a card with a Persona, boom you get a Persona. There is also fusing, which is how a majority of your Personas will be gained. To fuse Personas you must go to a creepy old man with a long banana nose and his young demonic female apprentice. There’s also a sort of dating sim that involves your personas arcana or something, their fun but not the most important, even tho they give fusing bonuses.
The game has been fortuitous, it got a remake for the psp, which not only added the ability to play as a female, Insert Name Herette, but also allows you to directly control your teammate. It also spawned a sequel Persona 4, which took the gameplay elements and improved upon them. The game itself appeared as the town and one of the dateable characters makes a very brief appearance. P4 spawned a fighting game, which is a fighting game, it also features Persona 3 characters. Persona 4 also spawned a PSVita remake and an anime. Persona 3 also spawned an anime, Persona Trinity soul, it wasn’t very good at all.
This game resides in my heart as the best game ever. Why? I dunno, maybe its the creepy atmosphere, the memorable characters, the anime voice acting. Who knows maybe I’m an antisocial who dreams of an hour in which I can summon the power of satan himself by shooting myself in the face, and use his powers to defeat the shadowy remains of society. Or maybe it’s all the stuff above, let’s hope it’s that. It’s most likely those.
In short I dunno, it’s been awhile since I’ve played this game, but everyone really should play it. I hope this made you want to play it. If it has not done this than there are several other things that might, like the game box, or wikipedia. Or playing the game, that tends to make me like games. Anyway, that’s all, no like seriously it’s over, I’m done. Bye.
