This section we get back to some more standard platforming gameplay, though naturally the game maintains its particular style. It also happens to contain a boss fight, which seems to have been done relatively well. It didn’t take long to figure out the desired pattern to defeat him, as they actually give a hint as to how to do it just before you actually enter the fight. Admittedly, I can see getting up to the catwalk being particularly frustrating for some players, and not just because the orchestra could have floated us up there and saved us some trouble. As you’re floating up, the Phantom, like a proper villain, takes potshots at you. Getting hit sends you all the way to the stage floor once again. They do, however, give you the tools to avoid this problem, so it’s more a matter of if the player remembers they have said options than a poorly balanced fight.
